Clues Begin To Appear Around The Village

Local Ballater Resident Jock Watt uncovers confirmation that the official unveiling of the Jubilee Cairn was to take place on the 27th September 2012. The organisers of the Cairn project would like to thank Jock for all his help with essential preparations.

Once the date for the official unveiling was announced brains had to be put into gear once more and ideas and suggestions collated and acted upon.

Advice was sought from Buckingham Palace as to a suitable tartan to be used in the unveiling ceremony. It was advised by the Palace that permission would need to be obtained for the exclusive Balmoral tartan to be used. Permission was granted and with great assistance from Buckingham Palace the tartan was provided.

It was agreed that after the unveiling, The Royal Guard would line the route with lighted torches as Her Majesty left the village on return to Balmoral Castle. These had to be designed and thoroughly tested for safety reasons.
